ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: REFLECTION

Greetings,

Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. (Proverbs 4:7)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. This is the final topic that we need to take a look at in determining the thirty-one major causes of failure.

We have discussed thirty different topics that WILL cause our failure. But we must also take the time to reflect on what we may have experienced in our lives that was not mentioned. Be true to thine own self is what my mom has always said to me. We must be willing to be honest about the things we are doing to ourselves that causes us to fail. Until we can look in the mirror and be honest with the person we see, we will never reach our full potential.

There are experiences that we will have as just apart of life. Murphy's Law says, everything that can go wrong will. This is to stretch us. We must be willing to grow by stepping outside our comfort zone. These experiences will result in many different emotions. We must learn to control our emotions and channel them so they are used to our benefit.

In our growth, we must learn to identify how we sabotage ourselves. We do this by evaluating our lives and our business. If we do not like the way our lives or our business look, we must be willing to honestly address the problem and implement actions that will give us different results.

We can have all the success we dream of if we are willing to go through the steps it takes to change the things that do not work and to implement the things we know will work. If we are willing take the time to explore ourselves, determine where our passion is, and develop our business in that area, we will be successful.

We must make a commitment to ourselves to never give up. It does not matter what things look like, never give up. If we don't like our circumstances, we must step back, evaluate what needs to be done to change it and then TAKE ACTION!!! It's just that simple.  Let's take this chance to begin to think and grow rich in 2010 and make it happen. See you at the top.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Stay tuned for the next issue where we will be examining another topic to be announced. I appreciate you allowing me to spend this time with you to evaluate the things that has caused our failure and offer some solutions to help us to reach success. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

To our success,

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: LACK OF CAPITAL

Greetings,

The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it. (Proverbs 10:22)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. How many of us jump right into business because someone showed us the money? We must put ourselves in a position to prosper by evaluating every area of business. One of the most important areas that must be in order is working capital. Most of us fail because of the lack of capital.

The lack of working capital can be a really big problem for us if we have not made proper preparations. It is a prescription for failure to underestimate the amount of funds needed, not only run our business, but to take care of unforeseen emergencies as well.

According to "Think and Grow Rich", "This is a common cause of failure for those who start out in business for the first time, without sufficient reserve of capital to absorb the shock of their mistakes, and to carry them over until  they established a REPUTATION."

Ninety-six percent (96%) of small businesses fail within the first five years in business. How can we combat this and not become another statistic? We must educate ourselves. There are mentors in every area of business. Finding someone to guide us successfully in the operation of business will not be difficult and will save us much heartache.

Let's take this chance to begin to "think and grow rich" in 2010. We must seek out the education and guidance needed to be a success. Taking the time to get in the proper position will help us to have a better experience in the business industry. Leadership and instruction are key ingredients that we must have. Let's go after it!!

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me tomorrow for the culmination of our study of the thirty one major causes of failure. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

Until next time,

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: GUESSING VS. THINKING

Do you have a problem with admitting that you may not know the answer to a question or do you know everything?

Today we will discuss the concept of guessing instead of thinking. It is okay for us to admit that we do not know everything. This does not make us look any less professional at all. In fact, this will help others see that we are just ordinary people who have worked really hard to get where we are. Successful in our own right, but yet a work in progress.

We will develop trust with others by showing them we don't know everything. With this said, we must remember to not stop there. Although we may not know the answer to their question, we can find out. This lets others know that they do not have to know everything before they are able to join us in business. They learn that there's a support system in place to help them when they encounter the same type of situation.

As noted in "Think and Grow Rich", " Most people are too indifferent or lazy to acquire FACTS with which to THINK ACCURATELY. They prefer to act on "opinions" created by guesswork or snap-judgments."  No one wants to be bothered with a know it all anyway. If we walk around like we have all the answers, our prospects will begin to feel inadequate. They realize they know none of the information now and do not think they could ever learn it all as we have. We must let our associates know that we are human and that they too can learn the things we have in order to become successful.

Let's show our prospects who may be interested in joining us in business that we can think. We use our head in order to make intelligent decisions. We don't leave things to chance by relying on guesswork. Let them know that we take our time and get the facts so we can share legitimate information so that an intelligent decision can be made. Let's take this chance to begin to think and grow rich in 2010 and think instead of guessing when sharing information.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me again tomorrow. We will discuss how a lack of capital may cause our failure. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

Until next time,

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: EGOTISM AND VANITY

Greetings,

Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don't think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us. (Romans 12:3)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. The topic of discussion for today is Egotism and Vanity. EGOTISM + VANITY= FAILURE! No brainer!!!!

This is not a topic that we must take a moment and give much thought. It should be obvious that if we possess these traits, we are destined to fail. Leadership is given, not taken. Who gives leadership to someone who is egotistical and vain? No one! The definition of egotism is selfish and self-centered. Vanity is defined as lack of real value; hollowness; worthlessness. Now be honest, would you want to follow someone who has these characteristics? I WILL NOT!

According to "Think and Grow Rich", "These qualities serve as red lights which warn others to keep away. THEY ARE FATAL TO SUCCESS." It's just that simple. Congratulations to you my fellow business associates for displaying an attitude that will encourage others to work with you.  Let's take this chance to continue to think and grow rich in 2010 and to avoid these types of characteristics. They will surely lead us to failure. If you know someone in business who displays the type of characteristics discussed above, please help them the best way you know how. If you can't find the words to express your dissatisfaction with their way of thinking, refer them to this blog. Maybe it will help.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Tomorrow's topic of discussion will be guessing instead of thinking. I look forward to you joining me then. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

Until next time,

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: INTENTIONAL DISHONESTY

Greetings,

Honesty guides good people; dishonesty destroys treacherous people. (Proverbs 11:3)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. We are in the twenty seventh day of our study of things that cause us to fail. Intentional dishonesty should cause bells and whistles to go off and throw up red flags.

There's not much that needs to be said about intentional dishonesty and the fact that it will cause our failure for sure. I know we've all heard that a little white lie will not hurt. The problem is if you tell one little white lie, you must continue to tell little white lies to cover up the ones already told. I have one question. How little is that little white lie now?

There are some instances where we may have been dishonest unknowingly. This happens. We think that we are give good instruction when in fact it is not. As long as our heart is right, in this instance, we are not condemned to failure. It's when we intentionally deceive someone that our actions we be compensated with much destruction.

Let's take a look at an example of intentional dishonesty. I have a business partner whose name is Van. One of the aspects of conducting our business is to invite other people to take a look at our business model to see if they would be interested in joining us. I do not have a job. I own a business. One of the ways Van attracts people is by advertising immediate positions open for hire, flexible hours, flexible pay, call for an interview. There is nothing wrong with this so far. When prospect calls for an interview, they are lead to believe they are interviewing for a job. This is intentional dishonesty, in my opinion, because there is a certain line of thinking that accompanies interviewing for a job, like a time clock, a regularly scheduled pay check, and a boss. In my industry none of these things exist. You can have a regular pay check, but you must make this happen via your own efforts. To lead someone on this way and convince them that they should join you is intentional dishonesty.

According to "Think and Grow Rich", "There is no substitute for honesty. One may be temporarily dishonest by force of circumstances over which one has no control, without permanent damage. But, there is NO HOPE for the person who is dishonest by choice. Sooner or later, his deeds will catch up with him, and he will pay by loss of reputation, and perhaps even loss of liberty."

Is intentional dishonesty worth it? I was taught, your word is your bond. If you don't have a respectable word, nothing else matters. If you are practicing intentional dishonesty, take this chance to begin to think and grow rich in 2010. Change the way you approach your affairs and we will see you at the top.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me again tomorrow. Our topic of discussion will be Egotism and Vanity. This will be pretty exciting! I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

Until next time,

God Bless

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: QUICK RICHES

Greetings,

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. It is very interesting, the topic for today. This topic speaks of power that was not earned, rather inherited.

All too often we have seen an heir receive their inheritance and totally mishandle the affairs of their new found riches. This is also true for a business or organization that someone inherits. One day they're an average Joe. The next he is wealthy and in charge of a very successful business. This person will not understand his new leadership role because he did not earn it.

This causes abuse of authority. It is seen time and time again. Someone wins the lottery and instantly they become a millionaire. Life is great for a while. But soon, that person is found in poverty again because they we not mentally prepared to receive the treasures given to them.

We must be mindful not to abuse power of authority if given unto us. We may have to walk in a new set of shoes, but let's educate ourselves so that we may remain in our position of power. According to "Think and Grow Rich" it is better to acquire the riches gradually.

We must remember, leadership is given, not taken. If we are blessed with a position of power that we did not acquire gradually, we must step back and take time to prepare for our new endeavor. Let's take advantage of another chance to begin to think and grow rich in 2010. Riches quickly gain and not earned will rapidly lead to poverty.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me again tomorrow. We will discuss how intentional dishonesty will surely cause failure. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: INTEMPERANCE

Greetings,

Constantly be on your guard so that your hearts will not be loaded down with self-indulgences, drunkenness, and the worries of this life, or that day will take you by surprise. (Luke 21:34)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. Have you ever considered intemperance as a cause for failure? Let's take a deeper look into this topic to uncover the reasons why this is true.

We will start by looking at the definition of intemperance. Intemperance is defined as lack of moderation or due restraint, as in action or speech. According to "Think and Grow Rich", "the most damaging forms of intemperance are connected with eating, strong drink and sexual activities." We can clearly see how self indulgence in any of these areas can cause failure. Aside from the health issues that would occur due to intemperance in any of these areas, if we are not able to control our actions when it comes to these and other related areas of concern, our professional life will be affected.

If we were to over indulge in strong drink, we would not be in the right frame of mind in order to carry out any assignments expected of us in our business. This will definitely have a negative impact on our plans to reach success.

We spoke in an earlier issue of Let's Talk about uncontrolled sexual desire. In the business world, we must be able to control our sexual activities for a number of reasons. We will avoid harassment suits, unnecessary tension and defamation of character, just to name a few.

We must learn to control our emotions and not have our emotions control us. Then, and only then, will we be able to display the level of professionalism needed to become successful in today's business world. Let's not allow intemperance to rob us of another chance to begin to think and grow rich in 2010.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Tomorrow join me for another discussion of the thirty-one major reasons for failure. We will explore the reason why possession of power that was not acquired through self effort causes failure. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

Until next time,

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: INABILITY TO COOPERATE WITH OTHERS.

Greetings,

The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. (I Cor. 3:8)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. Our discussion today centers around a very important topic, the inability to work with others.

It is safe to say, we need to be able to cooperate and work well with others to achieve our goals in life. We cannot have success without the support of others. It would be foolish for us to think that someone would support us in our endeavors if we are not able to work together as a team.

According to "Think and Grow Rich", "more people lose their position and their big opportunity in life, because of this fault, than for any other reasons combined. It is a fault which no well informed business man, or leader will tolerate."

Success is not just about us individually. We must surround ourselves with a master mind group who is able to offer strengths where we are weak. No one will want to be apart of our team if our attitude is not the right kind of attitude. The best way to show our partners how much we value them and the support that they provide is to be able to appreciate them. If there is a problem, and there will be problems, we must be able to come together and work through them. We cannot do this if we cannot cooperate with one another.

When we have trouble in this area, it is mainly because of an attitude, either ours or the person we're working with. The solution to this problem is very simple. We must check our attitudes continuously. We must step away from the situation until we have a chance to analyze our attitude. Respect plays a big part as well in cooperating with others. If we treat others the way they want to be treated, then we will reduce the problems we experience when it comes to cooperating with others.

Another opportunity has been given to us as we rose this morning. Let's maximize this chance to begin to Think and Grow Rich in 2010. We must build our master mind team of people who share our passion, who exercise patience and who will persist in the face of adversity. We can succeed with the right mindset and the right team members. Let's treat them with the respect they deserve. They do deserve our respect or they would not be a member of our master mind team. Our best is all that can be asked when developing cooperation. If our team do their best and we do ours, success is just around the corner.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me again tomorrow. We will discuss intemperance. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: INTOLERANCE

Greetings,

Intelligent people are always ready to learn. Their ears are open for knowledge. (Proverbs 18:15)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. Today we will discuss intolerance and how this can alter you destination.

First, let's start by taking a look at the definition of intolerance as given by Napoleon Hill in "Think and Grow Rich." According to Hill, Intolerance means that one has stopped acquiring knowledge. Once again, our minds are like parachutes. They're only good when they are open. Intolerance, according to the definition shared above, is a definite sign of a closed mind.

It is safe for us to assume that an intolerant person will find it difficult to get ahead. We mentioned in a previous post that success has a price that has to be paid up front. If we have decided to stop acquiring knowledge, we will not learn the lessons taught by life while being exposed to difficulties.

Under pressure, we challenge ourselves to become creative. In our creativity, we pull from our inner most being and push pass difficulties to realize success in its truest form. It is easy for us to become intolerant along this road. We must keep a positive mind set and never give up. If we focus on the lesson to be learn and don't allow ourselves to become intolerant, we will win.

Becoming intolerant is the easy way out and will lead to a life of mediocrity. Majority of us live in mediocrity because we do not challenge ourselves to think outside of the box and become more creative. It's said, there's more than one way to skin a cat. It's when we look at the most common way, which doesn't always work, as the only way, the opportunity to experience success passes us by. Let's keep an open mind and look outside of the norm for an opportunity to stretch ourselves beyond our comfort zone. Then, and only then, will we walk in success and enjoy the lifestyle of our dreams.

Always remember to take advantage of another chance to begin to think and grow rich in 2010. Notice I did not say work your fingers to the bones until you have acquired a handsome amount of money. The way we can walk in the rich and rewarding life of success is to think and then grow into an attitude of gratitude, begin to take advantage of every chance to live outside our comfort zone leaving fear behind, and make 2010 our year leaving intolerance to the weak.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Tomorrow we will discuss the inability to cooperate with others. I look forward to you joining me. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

Until next time,

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: LACK OF ENTHUSIASM

Greetings,

Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. (Ephesians 6:7)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. I am soooooo excited to have our discussion today. Today we discuss the lack of enthusiasm and how this can cause our failure.

This topic is pretty simple actually. No one wants to follow a dead head. People in general want to be apart of something bigger than themselves. They want to get involved in the excitement and thrill of what's going on. If we are to succeed, we must exude enthusiasm. It must seep from our pores like sweat from an athlete in the U.S. Olympics.

People will want to follow us if we are excited about what we are doing and where we are going. According to "Think and Grow Rich", "enthusiasm is contagious, and the person who has it, under control, is generally welcomed in any group of people." We should be excited and show enthusiasm in a professional manner. This is very important because we want our audience to view us as serious business professionals although we are excited about what we are sharing.

Another reason why we should show enthusiasm is because we cannot be convincing if we don't. It is very difficult to believe someone is excited about their home based business or new product if they are always nonchalant. Others need to see passion when we present them with an opportunity that can change their life forever. This is very easy for us to accomplish if we are involved in a business that we are passionate about. In a previous post, we mentioned that we need to examine ourselves and see what it is we love to do. What is that thing we would do even if we were not being compensated? If we are able to offer a solution to someone's problem using the thing we are passionate about, we do not have to convince them. They will feel it as well as see it.

We should search deep within ourselves and find what we love to do. There is someone somewhere waiting for us to share our passion with them. They want to be apart of our business. Passion can take you where the lack of knowledge cannot go. If you share your passion, there will be someone there with the knowledge waiting to take you to the next level.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me again tomorrow when we will discuss how intolerance hinders our success.. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

Until next time,

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: INDISCRIMINATE SPENDING

Greetings,

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Tim 1:7)

Welcome to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. Today we will discuss our spending habits. As with anything, if we are extreme in our doing, the end result is not good.

Before we consider how we handle our finances, we must examine our mindset when it comes to finances. Remember, we cannot attract that which we repel. If we have a problem with people who have lots of money, we will never acquire true financial independence because subconsciously we are saying we would have a problem with having lots of money. The job of our subconscious mind is to keep us comfortable. It would never allow us to acquire lots of money because we would not be comfortable with it. So, we must check our mindset and make sure we are not repelling the very thing we say we want.

Now that we have our mindset checked, we must consider how we handle the finances we have currently. According to "Think and Grow Rich", "The spend thrift cannot succeed, mainly because he stands eternally in fear of poverty." Remember what we said about extremes? Fear will paralyze us and we will not take the steps to position ourselves to be prosperous. Those of us who operate in fear when dealing with financial affairs will not take any risk in investing. We just want to hold on to our money. If we don't invest our funds, our money will not grow.

The other end of spectrum is this. A lot of us take no thought of tomorrow and spend every dime we get our hands on. This is not a good habit. We should learn to save a predetermined percentage of our income every month. It is a good idea to invest the saving to help grow our initial contribution. Napoleon Hill says, "Without money, one must take what one is offered, and be glad to get it."

As with any thing in life, we must find balance in our endeavors. It is not healthy to live at either end of an extreme. Right in the middle will give us a healthy perspective of any issue. As we said before, we must keep an open mind so we can make an intelligent decision. Remember, we cannot attract that which we repel. So, lets examine ourselves and make sure we take advantage of another chance to begin in 2010 and have the best chance at success.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me again tomorrow. Lack of enthusiasm will be our topic of discussion. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

Until next time,

God Bless

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: JACK OF ALL TRADES

Greetings,

Do you see any truly competent workers? They will serve kings rather than working for ordinary people. (Proverbs 22:29)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. By God's grace, we have made it to day twenty. We are more than half way finish looking at the things that has and/or will cause us to fail. As we continue to dissect the things that cause us to fail, let us take heed not to continue in any of them. Let us take advantage of another chance to begin to think and grow rich in 2010.

Let us continue our study today by discussing the lack of concentration of effort. We have all heard the saying, jack of all trades, master of none. Normally when we hear this, we are speaking of someone who is always starting a project, but never completing it. Napoleon Hill says we are good starters but poor finishers. We must admit, this could cause a bit of failure.

This is not to say that we cannot succeed at more than one task. It is encouraged to have multiple streams of income. This positions us to weather storms that may come about in our different areas of compensation.

But we must first master the one profession. We must find that things that really moves us with passion and develop our skills in that area. We should choose the thing we are most passionate about as our profession because this will be the easiest for us to perfect.

In our text of study it is said, we must concentrate all our efforts on one definite chief aim. When we do this, we will learn what it takes to succeed and learn it doing something we love to do. Once we have accomplished this goal, we will then know what path to take to lead us to success in most any area. Why not learn how to succeed doing something we love, then apply that knowledge to all other endeavors we may embark upon.

Let us begin to "Think and Grow Rich". It did not say, put your nose to the grind stone and work your way to riches. It says think and grow rich. That's a clue. We should take it and succeed.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me again tomorrow when we will discuss the habit of indiscriminate spending. Do you think this could be a problem that causes failure? Let's Talk. Let me know what's on your mind.

I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what's heartfelt. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: CHOOSING THE WRONG VOCATION

Greetings,

The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. (DEUT. 28:12)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. We have another chance to begin in 2010. We will discuss how choosing a wrong vocation can adversely affect our chances of reaching success.

Do you love what you do for a living? Would you continue to pursue your career even if you were no longer getting compensated? These are the questions that help us determine if we are in the right vocation or not. If we are not absolutely passionate about what we do to earn our living, we will never achieve the goals that would lead us to success.

We must take on the role of a servant in order to be fulfilled. We were created to serve one another. To illustrate this truth, think of the feeling you get after you have helped someone in need. If it had not been for what you did, no telling what would have become of that person you've helped.

There is no gratification like appreciation. If we know that someone appreciates the things we do for them in our serving, that makes it all the better. Anyone can do anything for a little while. But in order to walk in success, we must choose a vocation that gives us no greater pleasure than when we are serving in the role that vocation calls for.

If we choose a vocation that seems like play, we will succeed and at a rate we would not believe if we did not experience it ourselves. What I me is this, if you are passionate about cooking and about helping the homeless, open a restaurant and feed the homeless one day a week. This vocation would not seem like work, more like play, because it is what you like to do.

When we learn to use our gifts to help others, the compensation will follow. Our gift will make room for us. We may use our gift to solve a problem in one area and that same gift will be requested of us from somewhere else, and come with great compensation. When we serve from our heart, a right heart, using the gifts we are blessed with, we will always succeed.

According to Napoleon Hill in "Think and Grow Rich", "No man can succeed in a line of endeavor which he does not like. The most essential step..... is that of selecting an occupation into which you can throw yourself wholeheartedly."

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me again tomorrow when we will discuss the lack of concentration of effort. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: SUPERSTITION AND PREJUDICE

Greetings,

God did not give us a cowardly spirit, but a spirit of power, love, and good judgement. (2 Tim. 1:7)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill.

Superstition and prejudice is our focus on today. Let's take a look at the definition of these terms so we can have a clear understanding of how these topics can cause our failure.

Superstition as defined is irrational fear of what is unknown or mysterious. The definition of prejudice is an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, reason. Fear of the unknown will surely keep us from taking the necessary steps towards achieving our goals.

But when these fears are based in superstition and prejudice, we must question ourselves. Does this make sense? In this aspect, we are in essence our own worst enemy. It just goes to show how what we think can actually affect our lifestyle. According to "Think and Grow Rich", "this is also a sign of ignorance. Men who succeed keep open minds and are afraid of nothing." Remember, our mind is like a parachute. It's only useful when it is open.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Meditate on this question and join me tomorrow for the discussion. Does our vocation matter? I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: SELECTION OF ASSOCIATES IN BUSINESS

Greetings,

Do you see any truly competent workers? They will serve kings rather than working for ordinary people. (Proverbs 22:29 New Living Translation)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill.

Our focus of discussion for today is the wrong selection of business associates. It is very important that we work with like-minded people. Difficulty will arise if we get involved in business partnerships with people who do not have the same goals. We must find someone who shares our work ethic and passion. Success will definitely be out of reach for us if we are connected in business with someone with whom we cannot agree. "How can two walk together unless they agree? The Bible"

According to "Think and Grow Rich", having the wrong business associates is the most common cause for failure. We must look for partners who are successful, intelligent and inspiring. If we choose a business partner who shares our same passion, we can travel the same path in harmony. "We emulate those with whom we associate most closely." Napoleon Hill
We must remember to choose business partners who are worth emulating.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me again tomorrow. We will discuss superstition and prejudice. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: OVER CAUTION

Greetings,

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. (Joshua 1:8)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill.

Today we will consider the sixteenth major cause for failure, over cautiousness. We've all heard no risk, no reward. What this means is there will be risks involved in reaching this destination called success. You must be willing to take some risks, responsibly of course, or you will have to get what's given to you in life.

Napoleon Hill says it like this, "The person who takes no chances generally has to take whatever is left when others are through choosing." We should be responsible in our decision making. But, you do not have to have all the answers to every scenario and a solution for every problem that may arise before you take action. This is an extreme!

On the other end of that spectrum lies under-caution. It too is an extreme. We must learn to take healthy risks and be flexible enough to handle obstacles when and/or if they occur. Life itself is full of chance. Handle these chances with caution, not over-caution or under-caution, but healthy caution and you will succeed.

Let's take advantage of another chance to begin in 2010. Success awaits you. It's at the end of the path that we must travel. The streets along that path are Failure Blvd., Caution Trail, Emotion Ave., and Victory Circle. We must follow our map, travel these roads, and learn lessons along the way to arrive at our residence, 1825 Success Way.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Until tomorrow, ponder this question with me. How can choosing the wrong associates in business cause our failure? I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

Until next time,

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: ARE YOU MARRIED TO THE RIGHT MATE?

Greetings,

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. (Genesis 2:24)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill.

Our topic for today deals with our mate. It is very important to be married to the right person. When we find the person who is right for us, we will be happier and we will be more productive. This is true because we understand one another. We know what we want and our mate supports us in our endeavors.

For this reason, it is crucial for us to be married to the right person. If our mate is not supportive and do not understand our mission or plan, this can make for a very unhappy relationship. Failed marriages is a failure that is emotionally destroying. It leaves scares that are sometimes hard to forget about and forgive.

While on this journey to success, there are some decisions that we must make. These will be decisions that involve sacrifice, not only for and of ourselves, but our family as well, especially our mate. If we have the right mate, we can come up with a game plan that will allow us to survive and thrive during the hard times of transition.

But if we are on two separate pages, life will be miserable and we will get distracted. We will not be focused on arriving at our destination. Rather, we will be trying to avoid hurt and loss. Dealing with life issues other than our plan for success will become our main objective.

So, this raises the question, Are you married to the wrong mate? Could this be your cause for failure? According to "Think and Grow Rich", this is the most common cause of failure. It is also one marked by unhappiness and the clear view of our ambitions get lost.

If you realize you are married to the wrong mate, all does not have to be lost. You must address the issue and come to an agreement and seal it with commitment. This will take work, hard work, but it can be accomplished if the marriage is what you truly want.

If you are not married, please consider your plans for success and communicate with your partner. Make sure they understand where you are going in life and what it will take to get there. Give them the option to get on board or not. If they are not on board, make the decision that is best for you. This may mean passing on your partner to achieve you dreams and goals of success. It is a tough situation to deal with, but it is better to deal with it before the marriage than after. Let's get on the same page, start strong and complete this race to success.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me again tomorrow. We will discuss how over-cautiousness causes failure. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: ONE OR MORE OF THE SIX BASIC FEARS

Greetings,

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7)

Welcome once again to Let's Talk where we are taking a look at the thirty-one major reasons for failure. Our text of study is "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. Our topic of discussion today is dealing with one or more of the six basic fears.

Let's begin by taking a look at the six basic fears. According to "Think and Grow Rich", here are the basic fears in their most common appearance:

1. The fear of poverty.
2. The fear of criticism.
3. The fear of ill health.
4. The fear of loss of love of someone.
5. The fear of old age.
6. The fear of death.

"Fears are nothing more than states of mind." (Napoleon Hill)
It is believed that we all suffer from one or more of these fears throughout our life time. Until we deal with these basic fears and rid ourselves of them, we will not experience success.

We must do a self evaluation to determine if we suffer from any of these fears and if so, which one(s). Honesty has to play the major role in this evaluation. If we are not honest with ourselves, we definitely cannot walk out our destiny. All these fears are a result our thought patterns. If we learn to control our thoughts, we will conquer our fears.

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me again tomorrow. We will discuss what choosing a mate has to do with failure. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: LACK OF A WELL DEFINED POWER OF DECISION

Greetings,

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:5)

Welcome. It's day thirteen here on Let's Talk. Today we will explore the lack of a well defined power of decision.

According to Napoleon Hill, the author of our text of study, "Think and Grow Rich", "Men who succeed reach decisions promptly, and change them, if at all, very slowly. Men who fail reach decisions very slowly, and change them, frequently, and quickly."

We must develop a plan and stick with it. There will be times when we will have to adjust our plans, but we should not be quick to abandon our plan because of obstacles. The obstacles are lessons wrapped inside of difficulty. Unwrap the difficulty and gain a valuable lesson for life. We must remain consistent. Being consistent does not involve changing our mind at what appears to be a failure. Embrace the lesson and continue to move forward!

That's all for this issue of Let's Talk. Tomorrow we will discuss one or more of the basic fears.

I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: UNCONTROLLED DESIRE FOR "SOMETHING FOR NOTHING"

Greetings,

Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow. (Proverbs 13:11 NIV)

Welcome to day twelve of Let's Talk, where we are taking advantage of another chance to begin in 2010 by exploring the thirty-one major reasons for failure as noted in the book "Think and Grow Rich". Today , we will discuss uncontrolled desire for "something for nothing".

We all know people who religiously play the lottery hoping to win big. We've also heard of people who won the lottery and two years later they were broke again. We cannot expect to get something for nothing. The things that are meant for us will be obtained via diligent work.

In a previous post we talked about the price of success being paid up front. There will be no sign of success unless we consistently and persistently do the thing necessary to reach our desired end. If we gain, what appears to be, sudden success it will not last long. There is a process that we must go through and lessons we must learn in order to prepare for our destiny. You cannot get around it no matter how hard you try. You cannot get something for nothing. You must pay the price.

Join me again tomorrow for another issue of Let's Talk where we will discuss lack of a well defined power of decision. I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: LACK OF CONTROLLED SEXUAL URGE

Greetings,

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. (1John 2:16)

Welcome to another issue of Let's Talk. In today's issue we will examine the thought of a lack of controlled sexual urge as discussed in our text of study "Think and Grow Rich". I would imagine the first thing to pop into your mind is, how do this have anything to do with failure? I know it was the first thing that popped into mine. After rolling it around in my head for a while, and discussing it with my husband, here's what I've found.

The lack of controlled sexual urge can destroy you for many different reasons. The one reason I would like for us to focus on is how it can destroy you in a business world. As noted in "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill, sex energy is the strongest form of stimulation that moves people into action. This means the emotion is so strong that it is very difficult to ignore.

We all know of cases of sexual harassment that has occurred in the work place. This happens as a means of not controlling sexual urges. Many careers and families have been destroyed because of the allegation and/or act of sexual harassment. We must be able to control our emotions and not let our emotions control us. To do this, we must divert the energy exerted from a sexual urge into other channels that will allow us to progress.

Our character is challenged when faced with sexual urges when business is involved. We must be able to separate the two and use the energy to drive us to a place of success. When we learn to take what could be negative emotions, depending on the circumstances, and channel that energy to propel us forward, we will then be able to walk in success because we were able to remain in control.

It is very important for us to realize emotions that are inappropriate for business and rid ourselves of them immediately. Take whatever steps necessary to protect your position and your business from uncontrolled sexual emotions. Obedience is better than sacrifice. This means it is much easier for us to avoid a situation involving uncontrolled sexual urges than to correct the situation. Let's be mindful of all obstacles that can cause failure to manifest in our lives and avoid them at all cost.

This concludes our study of the eleventh of the thirty-one major causes of failure in life. Let's take advantage of having another chance to begin in 2010 and avoid uncontrolled sexual urges. Join me again tomorrow for day twelve. Tomorrow's topic is uncontrolled desire for "something for nothing".

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: NEGATIVE PERSONALITY

Greetings,

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:5)

We are in the midst of our new series "Another Chance To Begin: 2010" where we are examining the thirty-one major reasons for failure as described in the book entitled "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill.

Welcome to another issue of Let's Talk.
In today's issue, day ten, we will dissect the idea of a negative personality. Have you ever been in the company of a negative person? Someone who always sees the bad in everything. It is very discouraging. No matter how good a situation may be or how great your accomplishment is, that person always has a yeah but...

While reading one of my favorite books, "The One Minute Millionaire" by Robert G. Allen, my real estate hero, I learned that we must turn down the volume of the voice of Mr. or Mrs. Yeah But. This is that person who lives in our head that challenges every positive thought we have. We can have positive thoughts running through our mind making us believe we can accomplish anything.
Then all of a sudden, you hear yeah but....what about this or what about that, all negative. That's Mr. or Mrs. Yeah But. It depends on your gender.

We cannot allow the voice of yeah but.... to control our personality. It is a fact, we must associate with other people. It is practically impossible to have lasting success if you have a negative personality. It's impossible because no one is going to want to associate with us if we have personality issues.

"Success comes through the application of power, and power is attained through the cooperative efforts of other people. A negative personality will not induce cooperation." Napoleon Hill "Think and Grow Rich" We must examine ourselves constantly and continue to work on ourselves from the inside out. We must be mindful of how others view us. This will have a direct effect on our success. Let's make a conscious effort to monitor our attitude and make others want to be a part of our success.

This concludes this issue of Let's Talk. Join us on tomorrow when we will discuss lack of controlled sexual urge. If you would like to read up on the thirty-one major reason for failure, visit "Think and Grow Rich". A FREE copy of the book will be emailed to you immediately. ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: LACK OF PERSISTENCE

Greetings,

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)

Welcome to another edition of Let’s Talk for the year 2010. Previously, I mentioned that we would dedicate the month of January to studying the book entitled “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill in which an analysis of thousands of men and women uncovered the thirty-one major reasons for failure. We will expound on one daily during this month. Today, on day nine, we will discuss the lack of persistence.

Most of us have no problem at all starting a venture. It doesn't matter what the venture is. We are excited and cannot wait to get started on our new project. It has to be know by everyone that we are embarking on a new idea and we will make it happen this time. We start strong, but something happens shortly there after. We run into an obstacle, something doesn't go right, plans fail. Our new venture has a problem and we see it as defeat.

Why is it that we are so excited about starting our new venture, but at the first sign of trouble we bail out? We give up. Is one problem all it takes to detour us from the success we said we wanted? Are we not willing to push pass opposition, evaluate other options, to get to the end result, success? What does it take to push pass the pain of failure?

It takes persistence! We must be willing to adapt and adjust our plans when we encounter a problem. According to Napoleon Hill, we must be quick to make a decision and slow to change our mind. What does this mean? When we decide to begin our journey to success, expect to make changes in how to carry out our plan, but never give up on the plan itself. We are good starters, but when faced with a challenge or two, we are good quitters as well. This must change.

To be persistent means to continue. We must realize there is a lesson in every obstacle we face. When we learn to embrace the lesson, defeat will never raise its ugly head. Be consistent and persistent and success is just around the way. Many of us give up right before the finish line. We do this because we have lost focus of our goal. Let's make a decision to not stop until we have reached the finish line. Remember, without a vision, the people perish Proverbs 29:18).

That it for this issue of Let's Talk. Join me tomorrow where our discussion will focus on Negative Personality. I would love to hear your feedback. Your comments and/or questions re welcomed. Let me know what's on your mind.

If you know anyone who would benefit from the information discussed here, please share this site with them. ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: PROCRASTINATION

Greetings,

I was quick to do your orders, and let no time be wasted. (Psalm 119:60)

Welcome to day eight of Let's Talk, where we are taking advantage of another chance to begin in 2010 by exploring the thirty-one major reasons for failure as noted in the book "Think and Grow Rich". Today , we will discuss procrastination.

If you noticed, these posts usually are published at 3:00 A.M. I published the last two posts to build the setting for this particular post. It is so very easy for us to put off until tomorrow what we can very well do right now. Most of the time when we delay a task, we are not doing anything that important to warrant putting it off. This is described as "Old Man Procrastination" by Napoleon Hill.

In Think and Grow Rich, Mr. Hill says that procrastination "stands within the shadows of every human being, waiting his opportunity to spoil one's chances at success. Some would describe the person who delays as lazy. For some, this may be true. But there are others of us who are not lazy although we cannot explain why we put things off.

The definition of procrastination is to defer action; delay: to postpone until an opportunity is lost. Many of us loose out on the very thing we sit around and ask for, pray for, because we refuse to or cannot recognize procrastination in action. A lot of times we want to justify our over cautiousness by saying "I have to have all my ducks in a row." In studying the text, we learn that we do not have to have all the answers to get started.

In fact, it is recommended that we get started as soon as possible. There are lessons that we will not learn until we get moving. I have a friend who always says, "You can't stirred a parked car." What this means is, until we get to moving, we don't know what adjustments need to be made. Success is attained via trial and error. There are things that we can do to minimize the error, but we must put our plan into action if we are to taste success.

Hill says that we fail most of our life because we sit around and wait for the "right time". Let's get the jury's verdict on this right now. There is no "right time" so stop waiting! We must put our plan into action and work with what we have. We have everything we need to succeed already within us or available to us. Until we get to moving, we will never see all the resources we actually possess.

If procrastination is a problem, there are courses we can take that will help us to get past that obstacle. You can visit sites by industry leaders like Dani Johnson and Brian Tracy to find valuable information. We must learn to better manage our time and we will get more things done. With that said.... Go, Go, Go!

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: CHILDHOOD ENVIRONMENTAL INFLUENCES

Greetings,

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old he shall not depart it. (Proverbs 22:6)

Welcome to day seven of Let's Talk, where we are taking advantage of another chance to begin in 2010 by exploring the thirty-one major reasons for failure as noted in the book "Think and Grow Rich". Today , we will discuss unfavorable environmental influences during childhood.

It is believed that we are a product of our environment. This is why we should strive to make our community the best. What we are exposed to molds our character. We cannot expect to raise children up with drugs and violence and not have most of them end up criminals. It is very important to monitor the mentors our children choose.

As children, we are an open book. Who we allow to write on our blank pages matter greatly. It is extremely difficult, although not impossible, to raise a child in a negative environment and they become a positive, productive member of society. Good morals must be instilled in us early on, so we have the right mindset to want to succeed. As Napoleon Hill would say, "As a twig is bent, so shall the tree grow." Think and Grow Rich

ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: ILL HEALTH

Greetings,

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

Welcome to day six on our journey to explore the thirty-one major reasons for failure as noted in the book "Think and Grow Rich". In this issue of Let's Talk , we will discuss Ill Health.

As you can imagine, it would be very difficult for us to thoroughly enjoy life and all of our accomplishments if we are ill. In fact, it would be difficult for us to experience certain levels of success if our body is not free of disease. Disease is a word that describes exactly what is going on in our body if we suffer with it. There is dis-ease somewhere within us.

There are many different reasons for disease, but many of them are caused by a lack of mastery and control according to Napoleon Hill. Some of the main reasons we experience disease is because we have poor eating habits. We tend to over indulge in foods that are not conducive to good health. We live our lives in such haste that everything has to be fast. Many of us will run through the drive thru and pick up a burger and fries because we don't have time to cook or we are tired from a long day and don't feel like cooking.

A day or two like this every now and then would be fine, but this becomes a lifestyle for some of us. This why a billion burgers have been served. The finger licking good food that we can have our way is not what our bodies need or want. We cannot continue to put artificial foods into our all natural body and expect it to function properly.

Another reason for disease, and one that is very powerful in the breaking down of our immune system, is negative thought patterns. We cannot continue to give way to negativity. If our body is diseased, we need to exam our mindset. How we think can be seen in the condition of our body. Negative thoughts will manifest themselves in the form of sickness and disease. In a previous post, we discussed self discipline. We cannot control every thought that pops into our head. But, we can control how long that thought takes up residence there. Let's not allow our precious real estate (our brain) to become dilapidated by negativity.

During our discussion on self discipline, we also spoke on controlling our emotions. Sex is a very powerful emotion and if not properly controlled, can cause very fatal health conditions. We must be responsible when it comes to sex, not only for ourselves, but for others as well.

Lack of proper physical exercise is also something that can cause disease. Mobility is key. We must move our body to keep the blood flowing properly. This builds and maintains muscle mass, as well as, rid our body of excess fat, toxins and stress.

Exercise is a great way to relax and relieve stress. It also allows for clear thinking so that solutions to our obstacles can be revealed unto us. Proper exercise will also promote healthy breathing. Our brain cannot function at its peak, if it lacks the oxygen it needs. Breathing properly rids our body of toxins which promotes good health.

We have just examined a few of the reasons for ill health which were mentioned in our text of study, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. We have been given another chance to begin again in 2010. Let's take full advantage of this opportunity and start our year off on the road to success.

That’s it for this issue of Let’s Talk. Join me tomorrow when we will discuss, unfavorable environmental influences during childhood.

I welcome your feedback. Please leave me any comments and/or questions and let me know what’s on your mind. If you know anyone who would benefit from this information, please share this site with them.

Until next time,

God Bless
