ANOTHER CHANCE TO BEGIN TO "THINK AND GROW RICH" IN 2010: LACK OF SELF DISCIPLINE

Greetings,

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:2)

Welcome to another issue of Let's Talk. We are in the beginning of our new series "Another Chance To Begin: 2010" where we are examining the thirty-one major reasons for failure as described in the book entitled "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill.

Today, we will take a look at the topic Lack of Self Discipline. Let us first take a look at the definition of self discipline. Self discipline is defined as the training of oneself usually for improvement; the ability to control oneself. The lack of self discipline is the fifth major cause of failure that we will examine this month.

We should not be controlled by our emotions. We must master the ability to control our emotions. If we do the things necesssary to succeed only when we feel like it, none of us would ever experience success. It's been said, there are certain types of businesses that are easy to do, but just as easy not to do.

I was told by a well respected Network Marketing Mentor, Jerry "DRhino" Clark that we are going to either do simple disciplines or make simple errors in judgement. We only make these simple errors in judgement when we are not self disciplined.

So, how do we become self disciplined? I'm glad you asked! We become self disciplined by understanding our purpose in life, knowing exactly what we want, having a definite plan of action, then following that plan of action until we have reached our desired destination. If for some reason there is something wrong with our plan, we should adjust it and move forward. If we look at an obstacle as an opportunity to fine tune our goals, we will not get discouraged and we will not give up.

There is a positive in every situation if we look for it. In being self disciplined, we learn to rid ourselves of all negativity. How good or bad a situation can be is solely based on our perception. How we look at life's lessons will drastically affect the way we deal with them. If we do not develop the power to control our thoughts, we will not be able to control how we are affected by adversities in our life.

Self discipline will be one of the hardest things we learn to do. For most of us, our natural tendency is to procrastinate. If this were not true, we would have more successful people in life. This is one giant that must be slain in order to reach our desired end. This takes self discipline!!!

When we begin to walk in the understanding that success comes with a price that must be paid upfront, we will leap over our hurdles, finish the course and be awarded the medal of first place in this race called success.

According to the book "Think and Grow Rich", "you may see at one and the same time both your best friend and your greatest enemy, by stepping in front of a mirror." Napoleon Hill
